Yamaha to soon commence production in the new Chennai plant

Few days ago Yamaha India launched their most awaited motorcycle twin-cylinder YZF-R3 in the Indian market and received an overall good response on the launch. From the reports it is believed that Yamaha is also coming up with an updated version of YZF-R15 this festive season. Apart from these launches Yamaha India is now working towards expanding its production facility. The new production facility in Chennai will be the third plant of Yamaha in India. And this plant will have a production capacity to manufacture 4,50,000 units.
According to the further reports, company has invested an amount of INR1,500 crore in the establishment of this plant while company has already started with the trial production. The present manufacturing facilities have a production capacity of 1 million units while these plants employs near 1,800 people overall. Currently India is the third largest manufacturer following Indonesia and Vietnam, with the launch of the new production facility India will come at second place in terms of manufacturing. The new production facility will help in exporting a larger number of units outside, presently Yamaha is exporting 1,50,000 units outside and this number will be upped by 1,00,000 units till next year.
