A few weeks back, we learned that Yamaha launched their Fazer V2 in a very silent manner in Delhi-NCR, and now, it seems, they have again opted for a silent route, to update their 150cc commuter offering, the SZ-RR. Blue Core technology made its debut with the Yamaha FZ/FZ-S V2 and later came in the Fazeer V2 too. But both the engines are Fuel Injected models (FI) and now it seems Yamaha will offer this technology in the non FI models too, starting from the SZ-RR.
Although we haven't received any confirmation from the Yamaha, sources confirmed that the motorcycle will soon make its way to the dealers. The changes made will be merely on the technological grounds with no major change in the engine and the exteriors of the body. The SZ-RR will be getting a new dual tone color, in the form of a Lime Green- Black shade apart from minor changes in the graphics. The other mechanical and features will remain the same.
On the engine front, as said, the updated version will get a Blue-Core technology, which promises improved fuel efficiency and performance. The power will be generated through the same 153cc air cooled single cylinder engine generating an output of 12.1 PS @ 7500 rpm and a maximum torque of 12.8Nm @ 4500 rpm.
The 150cc segment has suddenly shifted gears with the manufacturers, updating their vehicles in whatsoever manner they can. Recently Honda updated its CB Trigger and CBR 150R with a minor power increase in the engines. Also Suzuki launched its latest offering, the Gixxer, which has received good response in the market largely due to its new age design and power figures.
