The Pune Off-Road Expedition is back again and this year it will be conducted on the last day of this month. The expedition is going to be flagged off from Panshet Boating Club, near Panshet Dam, Pune starting at 0900 hours and will take competitors through some of the most rugged rough patches across the Sahyadri mountain range. Organisers expect this season will witness over 600 participants, which is almost double to last year’s numbers. As the name says, the participants will have to conquer broken tarmac, water crossings, knee-deep slush and slippery mountain trails in order to dominate the race which will test the real off-roader out of every single one participating in the race.
Also heavy rains will be there to make the trail worse than it is already is. The off-road track extends to almost 70 kilometres with a checkpoint after every 15 kilometres, this checkpoint helps the organisers to keep a track on the participants. The expedition doesn’t limit the capacity or make of the vehicle one can choose for the race and hence enthusiasts are free to bring their own motorcycles or cars according to their taste. One can register for the expedition by paying a sum of Rs 600 as the entry fees. The registration can be done directly at the venue.
