Yamaha Motor India reported a 35.81% increase in its sales for the month of July. The exact figures have not been released telling how did it perform in domestic and international market. Also the fate of scooters and motorcycles separately are unknown, but the possibility of Alpha, Ray and Ray Z playing a key role in these figures cannot be ruled out. The launch of new FZ v2.0 and FZ-S v2.0 also cannot be ruled out from being a potential winner.
Commenting on the figures, Mr. Roy Kurian, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Yamaha Motor India said, "The incessant growth numbers are a sign of Yamaha’s robust business plan and strategic customer engagement programs. This month we witnessed brisk growth due to our robust product line-up and new launches during the year. FZ Version 2.0 and FZ-S Version 2.0, launched last month, have indeed been key in boosting our sales, however, Alpha, launched at the Auto expo, continues to be the key contributor for us. The scooter segment has really taken off and is expected to be the growth driver for the two-wheeler industry. Against this backdrop, we are confident of continuing our growth story in the coming months as well.”
Yamaha had announced in the recent times that it will be investing heavily in the scooter segment till 2016 as it is one particular segment which has been witnessing growth from some good time.
