Of all the surprise yet stunning unveils at EICMA 2015 by DSK-Benelli, the TRK502, was not just an incredibly well thought of a product, but was also a showcase of just how dedicated Benelli is to make itself count in the motorcycle arena again. Benelli has unveiled the TRK502 for Indian market at the ongoing Autoexpo 2016. It also showcases just how incredibly smart Benelli has been in figuring out the need of the growing number of riders in the developing nations in a far better way than any other maker at this point in time. We say this because, it seems Benelli has become the first brand among the global ones to understand that you need products in and around 500cc mark that suit the South Asian market, products that have rugged and go anywhere attitude and which cost (hoping they do) not much to buy and to maintain.
The Benelli TRK 502 with its touring/off-roading intentions makes it a strong point for DSK-Benelli in India as well as for rest of the world. The bike gets a dual headlight with a high beak fairing and a windscreen that should take care of most of win blast and insects hoping to make a mess of your riding gear aesthetics. To add to the rugged look and functionality to the bike, the levers are equipped with knuckle guards on the handlebar, add to this a ground clearance of a whopping 230mm (with a skip plate) and you have one perfect bike to go searching for your solitude.
There is a 20 liter fuel tank that should be good enough for your long hauls away from civilization, while the size of the bike to seem to suggest you will get enough space to move around on the seat thus is expected be comfortable enough for the riders. The seat which is step up should also be comfortable for the pillion and there is ample space to tag in your luggage too. At launch Benelli is expected to offer a off-road spec version which will be equipped with spoked wheels instead of alloys.
