We are deeply saddened to announce that French rider Frank Petricola has lost his life on Wednesday during the qualifying for the 104th edition of the Isle of Man TT. The accident that took life of the French rider occurred at the Sulby Crossroads at approximately 19.45 hours during the evening qualifying rounds of TT.
Auto Cycle Union (ACU) has issued a statement: "ACU Events Ltd regrets to announce that French rider Franck Petricola, 32, from Pont a Mousson was killed following an accident at Sulby Crossroads at approximately 7.45pm during this evening’s qualifying session at the Isle of Man TT races.
Frank competed in IRRC on regular basis and did his best sessions in 2013 coming 11th overall in the SBK category. At Chimay, he was able to achieve his best result, sixth, and managed to end the year solidly with six successive top ten finishes. Frank was a new comer to Isle of Man TT as his last year’s TT debut was delayed because of his fatal crash at North West 200 that left him in coma for several days. Though Frank was able to regain his fitness to the fullest after the crash and he finished 25th in Superstock race and 21st in the SBK Race. Since 2013 a total of four riders including Frank have lost their lives in Isle of Man TT race. The investigation of the accident is underway and the Coroner of Inquests has been informed, ACU reports.
