Snapshot: torque upgrades to coming soon Hero's 150cc entry...
The Hero MotoCorp's 150cc segment listing, the Xtreme Sports has marked it attendance in a number of auto shows since it was first shown at the AutoExpo 2014 throughout the world including the prestigious EICMA 2014, however, when it will actually arrive at the showroom for the customers is yet unknown. However, one look at the recently updated Hero MotoCorp's website and you will see the sportier version of the standard Xtreme listed there. The new brochure, it is evident that the Xtreme Sport has seen a change in its engine specification since it was first shown and the major difference is in the torque rating of the new bike.
The 149.2cc single cylinder engine is now producing 0.7Nm of torque more than the previously specified 12.8Nm@6500rpm and now is rated at a decent 13.5Nm@6500rpm, while the power output remains the same at 15.2bhp for the engine that is mated to a 5-spedd gearbox. To be launched in two variants defined by the rear brake assembly, one being rear disc and the other being rear drum, the bike is expected to cost around 3000 INR more than the standard Xtreme. THe prices might hover around the range of 70000 to 74000 INR range depending what variant you choose and the bike might come with an option of five colours, ie. red, silver, orange, black and a dual tone black/red combo.
