Snapshot: Visually it might be same but everything else is all different!
It looks like finally the Japanese automaker has opened an eye on the litre-class segment and realised what they’ve been missing from such a long time, why we are saying that? It’s because the latest reports has revealed that Honda CBR100RR Fireblade is expected to receive a host of upgrades to finally be counted as a worthy rival for other competitors in the segment.
The all new Fireblade is expected to get a power bump of around 8 bhp and will now churn out close to 180bhp which is still 20bhp less than the standard in this class. That aside, the bike will be significantly lighter and up to date in terms of electronics. It will feature Bosch electronic control system which will be replace the Honda C-ABS system and it will also make the bike almost 10kgs lighter. This Bosch unit will feature Cornering ABS, anti-wheelie control, traction control and ABS. apart from all these updates, the bike is set to receive a fully revised fuel-injected system for enhanced performance. The will also be equipped with Öhlins semi-active suspension to better the riding dynamics and make the bike a better handler.
Talking about visuals, the bike overall looks similar and doesn’t look like a different package altogether. It gets a redesigned ram-air to help the bike breathe better and sleeker headlights at the front. It also gets LED lights on the sides and is now Euro-4 compliant to help deal with the strict emission norms.
