Indian Motorcycle announces a major recall

Snapshot: Motorcycles including the Chief Classic, Dark Horse, Chieftain, Roadmaster, Vintage and the Chieftain Dark Horse by Indian Motorcycle are the major models part of this recall.

The legendary American luxury motorcycle maker, Indian Motorcycle has recalled 18,367 motorcycles over an ignition issue. According to the reports, entire motorcycle line-up apart from Springfield, Scout and the Scout Sixty has been affected by this recall. Throwing light on the issue of recall, the unburnt fuel might pass through the exhaust system during a misfire and hence increases exhaust temperature leading to fire chances.

We can say that all the motorcycles powered by the Indian’s Thunder Stroke 111 engine are a part of the recall. The motorcycle manufactured between April 15, 2013 and June 16, 2015 are the affected models. Motorcycles including the Chief Classic, Dark Horse, Chieftain, Roadmaster, Vintage and the Chieftain Dark Horse by Indian Motorcycle are the major models part of this recall. The motorcycle manufacturer is contacting the customers to get this issue fix. We expect the company will soon make a similar announcement as the models imported in India in that time period might have been affected as well.
