The Bike comes with a 649cc parallel twin cylinder engine producing 72.1Ps@8500rpm while being capable of making 64Nm of peak torque at 7000rpm, and the power is transmitted through a super smooth 6 speed gearbox.
Sporting similar design to that of the already in sale Versys 1000, the Versys 650 gets a sporty looking semi-fairing that with its twin headlamp design looks contemporary and active. The adjustable windscreen arrives here too and is a tool-less affair this time around, adding more comfort for the rider. To take your luggage hauling needs intact, this semi faired tourer is equipped with a new integrated luggage mounting system which is mounted on the new sub-frame. The angular exhaust looks mean and suits the overall sportier modern styling of the bike.
The front suspension is adjustable and is provided by Showa and the SFF suspension on the Versys 650 features adjustable rebound damping on the right leg and adjustable preload on the left. Furthermore the rear side mounted monoshock gets remote spring adjustability. Making the Versys suitable for almost all terrain types is a suspension travel for front which stands at 150mm while the rear gets a fairly good 145mm travel.
The bike is currently available in any choice of colour as long as you choose Matt Black and do not wonder why the Kawasaki Green look so dark and without shine on the Versys 650 ABS. The bike will be sold through the KTM outlets just like the Ninja 650R.
