Lorenzo to start Misano GP
Snapshot: With an astonishing 62 crashes on Friday, it was a crash Fest.
The Sun returned to Misano and the track got the much needed grip it had so dearly lacked on the friday practice sessions. With an astonishing 62 crashes on friday, it was a crash Fest. Rains were all day long, completely soaking the track, making the already low on grip track (which Misano is notorious for), feel like the track was made out of polished glass.
With returning grip levels and rising temperatures, it was sure that the Yamahas would find that grip they lacked on Friday. Misano being considered a “Yamaha’ track, it was a matter of time when the Yamaha riders started exploiting the grip and post a threat to Marq Marquez's dominance for the first time this season. If Jorge Lorenzo’s performance at Silverstone was any indication, it was clear that for the first time this season we could see the real Jorge Lorenzo, who won 2 world titles in the premier class.
Lorenzo did prove us right. His first pole of the season came with a blistering lap time of 1'33.238 through the iconic Misano Circuit. Andrea Iannone produced a spectacular lap time earning the home boy 2nd position, he will begin the race tomorrow from the middle of the first row. Starting the race from the last position of the front row, will the Valentino Rossi, who at last managed to qualify well. Marquez was 4th, a strange position for the 21 year old, since we are all used to see him dazzle the front rows every time. Behind him was Dani Pedrosa coming up in 5th.

Will it be Lorenzo ending the Honda dominance of this season, or is it going to be the old man Rossi, winning at his home turf or is it going to be the day for Dani Pedrosa who is every bit as capable as the other three. Marc Màrquez had won at the Misano World Circuit in the Moto2 category in 2011 & 2012. He also won in the 125CC category in 2010. Will he cross the finish line first this year at the MotoGP and make his tally go up by 12?
