Snapshot: Suzuki GSX R 150 is expected to make its debut in 2017
After Honda and Yamaha, it looks like Suzuki Motorcycle will now join the race for the quarter-litre sports bikes. Patent design sketches of what is believed to be the new GSX R250 has surfaced on the Internet. As per reports, this 250cc motorcycle is in the pre-production phase and is expected to be launched in India somewhere in 2017. If launched, it will rival against the likes of recently launched Honda CBR250RR, Yamaha YZF R25 and Kawasaki Ninja Z250 motorcycle.
As you can see in the images, the new GSX-R250 will borrow it design cues from its elder sibling based on GSX platform. The motorcycle also received a single-piece Headlamp with a visor mounted on top, split seats, high raised clip-on handlebars, conventional exhaust system, telescopic forks at front, while at the rear it has monoshock.
The bike is likely to receive a powerful 250cc, two-cylinder, liquid cooled engine that is estimated to be powerful enough to produce between 30-32 bhp along with 28Nm of torque. Its motor will be paired to 6-speed transmission.
There is no confirmation if Suzuki is planning to bring this bike via CKD or CBU unit in the country. But if the Company manages to locally manufacture this bike in India, they will be able to put an attractive price tag on the bike against its Indian rivals- Honda CBR250R and the upcoming TVS Akula 310 motorcycle.
