TVS Akula 310 teased ahead of its launch

TVS Motor Company has teased its upcoming racing inspired motorcycle, the Akula 310 on its official twitter account. Showcased at Auto Expo 2016, this new 310cc motorcycle is expected to make its debut in India by the end of 2016. As per reports, we might see the new Akula310 as TVS Apache RTR 300, along with an estimated price tag of between Rs 2 lakh to Rs 2.20 lakh. When launched, it will rival against the likes of KTM Duke/RC 390, Kawasaki Ninja 300, Yamaha R3 and the forthcoming Bajaj Pulsar CS 400 bikes.
According to the Company, the new Akula 310 (Russian for Shark) will share the same motor as BMW G 310 R, which is a 4V, DOHC, Liquid cooled, 310 cc engine which is mated to a 6-speed transmission, though there is no official information available about the power output of this bike but in G-310-R this motor produce 34 bhp of power and a peak torque of 28 Nm.
It also comes loaded with multiple notable features such as Ram Air induction; Gill-Vents for thermal efficiency, Race Spec Aluminium Trellis Sub Frame, Race inspired Suspension, Carbon Fibre bodywork, Aerodynamic Drag Reduction, Lightweight Aluminium components, Twin headlamps, conventional exhaust system, disc brakes with dual channelled ABS system at front and rear, LED tail lights and Clip-On handle bars.
