Will Rossi spring back to podium in Jerez?
Snapshot: Keeping in mind his brilliant performance and some of the epic wins he has had here, Rossi looks forward to narrow the gap between himself and the leader Marc Marquez
After the first three races of the season and a poor show by team-mate Jorge Lorenzo, Valentino Rossi sits third in the standings thanks to his phenomenal performance in Qatar where is finished second after starting from 10th on the grid.
Rossi has a more than respectable show at Jerez so far with 6 premier class wins and two victories in 125 cc and 250 cc classes. Last year, after moving back to Yamaha after two disappointing years with Ducati, he finished 4th at Jerez just missing the podium.
With Marquez topping the standings with 75 points, Rossi, at 41 has a long way to go with 15 more races to go, but is in no mood to take it easy.
“Jerez is one of the most special and important Grand Prix weekends of the season. The track is fantastic and there will be a lot of fans so the target is to improve and make the podium.”
“We have to work a lot, the bike is good but we have some weak points which we have to improve to go faster so we can fight with the Hondas,” Rossi said talking to journalists at Jerez, Spain.
