Xiaomi unveils its first Electric Folding Bike

The China based company which is famous for its mobile phones has just launched its first ever electric bicycle in China. The bike has been priced at CNY 2,999 (approximately Rs. 30,000) and is named the Qicycle Electric Folding Bike. The company has made it clear that Xiaomi is not just a ‘smartphone company’ but a technological driven company which will come up with more such innovations in near future.
Talking about the bike, it is made up of carbon fibre and weighs only 7kgs in total. The bike packs a host of sensors and since it is foldable, anyone can keep it at anywhere, even in their cars! At the time of unveiling, the company touted that "Qicycle is not an ordinary bicycle” perhaps it is one of the first electric folding bike which has an integrated electric motor for propulsion. It packs a 250W 36V electric motor and utilizes Torque Measurement Method (TMM) to assist rider’s pedal-power. The bike can pedal up to 45km with the help of Panasonic 18650mAh battery. It also comes with battery management system (BMS) that helps in recharging the battery. Stay tuned for more updates!
