For years Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki and Suzuki have been in a battle to make faster and better motorcycles than their other Japanese counterparts.
The world had been waiting since a long time to see Yamaha upgrade its litre -class fighter to take on the European rivals that have taken the crown from it and its fellow Japanese companies. Eventually, at EICMA 2014 the all new Yamaha YZF - R1 finally arrived and arrived with it, the Yamaha YZF - R1M, the track only fire breathing technological monster sibling of the road legal 2015 R1.
At the core of the new R1 is a new crossplane motor, now dubbed the CP4 engine, which is producing 200hp without ram-air. The engine features titanium fracture-split con-rods, 10.5 liter airbox, titanium exhaust, and a slipper clutch to boot. For the 2015 Yamaha YZF-R1 though, the story is really all about the electronics. Packed with zeros and ones, the new Yamaha YZF-R1 features traction control, slide control, launch control, wheel-lift control, and anti-locking brakes. Priced at $16,490 in the United States, the 2015 Yamaha YZF-R1 comes in Yamaha Blue/White, Raven Black, and Red/White color schemes. For anyone who has been up-close with the Yamaha YZR-M1, Yamaha’s MotoGP bike, then there are obvious design cues that you can see carried over to the new street bike.

The YZF-R1M will be a limited production motorcycle and only 500 examples of the same would be made.
