Snapshot: The company has removed 5 models from the manufacturer’s official Indian website including FZ-S, RAY, Fazer, FZ-1 and Crux.

Yamaha Motor India has silently discontinued five models from manufacturer’s Indian line-up. The discontinued models includes FZS Standard, Fazer Standard, FZ-1, Crux and Ray Scooter. The standard models means that they are the carburetted version which have been succeeded by fuel-injected versions. While the Ray scooter has been discontinued because of the introduction of the new RAY-Z. The success of Yamaha Fascino can also be said as a contributing factor in the elimination of Ray from the line-up. That said, company has also removed Crux which is Yamaha’s only model in the smallest commuter segment and it is expected to be revived by the updated version of the same.

But interestingly the company didn’t discontinue the carburetted FZ and the bike still retails in the Indian market at a price of Rs 73,991 (Ex-Showroom, Delhi).

All the fuel-injected versions of the motorcycles FZ-S, FZ and Fazer propels the same 149cc Air cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 2-valve engine that delivers a healthy 13bhp of maximum power at 8,000 rpm and 12.8Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm. On the other hand, the new RAY-Z derives its power from a 113.0cc Air-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 2-valve engine that churns out 7.1bhp of maximum power at 7,500 rpm and 8.1Nm of peak torque at 5,000 rpm.
