Second hand cars for sale in Mumbai

Economic crisis has brought many changes to auto fans' life all over the world. In particular, most part of buyers in Mumbai switched to used cars for sale. What is the reason for such changes of automotive market?

Why is it profitable to buy used cars in Mumbai?

Exactly during global economic crisis sale of cars with mileage reached its apogee. There were several factors contributed to this:

  • Banks stopped giving loans for new autos so not all people had opportunity to buy a car from showroom.
  • Cost of pre-owned cars in Mumbai after 1 year use is about 25% lower than similar new auto price. Why should you pay more?
  • An inherent advantage of cars with mileage is that buyer can get a prestigious car for a relatively small amount of money, although at showroom this model would be too expensive for him. Which driver does not want to sit behind the wheel of Mercedes or BMW?
  • In addition, after buying a 1-3 years old car with a mileage, you can sell it in a couple of years at purchase price without losing a penny. This is a very profitable investment.
  • There is no doubt that used car is already tuned (titanium discs, radio tape recorder and so on). The seller does not overstate price for all this but uses additional attributes only for advertising purposes. In showrooms there is no such struggle for buyers and such discounts as at secondary market.
  • Another used cars' advantage is uniqueness. Some models of vehicles have long ceased to appear on the market because of small demand or obsolete technologies. But what if you want to buy Jaguar which was not manufactured since last year? There is only one option - buying a used car.

Buying tips

When checking the body, it is first of all necessary to look at gaps between different elements: doors and body, body and wings. If gap between doors is wider at the top than at the bottom, this indicates that car was in accident and possibly body's geometry has changed or door was damaged by serious corrosion.

Start the engine. A well-regulated mechanism is started about 1 to 3 seconds after ignition key is turned. Engine should work smoothly, without any claps and other extraneous sounds. After several minutes of engine operation, car should be bypassed. Look at smoke from exhaust pipe. It must be invisible or light gray, immediately disappearing in the wind.

It is also important to check:

  • Brakes. Sit behind the wheel, press brake pedal with all your might. Pedal must go half way to floor and stop. Wait a few more seconds in this position - pedal should not go down.
  • Shock absorbers. Push on each body's corner with force and then release it. Car should rise, then sink back down and stop in its original position. If there are more moves, then it's time to change shock absorbers. Also they can be checked visually. Look at wheel arch. In upper part you will see a spring and shock absorber itself in it. See if there are any moisture on all four shock absorbers.
  • Hub bearings. Grasp top of each wheel, move them to and from yourself. There should be no clearly audible knocking.
  • Steering linkage. Grasp edges of wheel in horizontal plane, move it left and right. Knocks' presence indicates backlash in steering linkage.
  • Let seller move the car to a flat and quiet road section. Listen whether there is a cracking in gearbox when the gears are switched, whether there are strange sounds or jerks when driving.
  • Compare the offers of trusted dealers at Autoportal and find vehicle of your dream. Used car price in Mumbai will definitely please you.
