Mahindra second hand cars

Mahindra is oldest machine building concern of India specializing in production of all-terrain vehicles, tractors and other agricultural machinery.

Buying tips

If you want to buy used Mahindra be sure to check following details:

  • Drive through a small puddle and see if trajectory of rear wheels movement converges with front ones. The alignment also should be done in service center but such a simple check will save money in first stage.
  • Absence of waves on body. It is enough to look through body surface line to see if there were any serious repairs. After a major accident, restored parts still do not have a perfect geometry.
  • If body has been repainted, easiest way to find it out is to compare paint color on body and under glass seals.
  • A mass in silencer is dry and gray - not black and resinous.
  • Backlash may be only at driver's door. If it was observed at passenger door, this was a service car or even worse - taxi.
  • Threadbare pedal patches indicate a large mileage. Of course they can be replaced. So ideal patches with mileage 50-60 thousand also should alert.
  • Heavily opening driver's door means problem with loops which happens in case of broken geometry or wear.
  • Remove seat covers, if any. Covers often hide bad state of upholstery. Seat wiped up to holes quite obviously speaks about that how intensively car was used.
  • Lift the mats. There are cases when buyer can see not only rust but also a hole in the floor.
  • Raise glass by half, pull up. Stroke must be no more than 2 cm.
  • Press brake pedal: a small stroke, does not fall after 30 seconds. Big move often indicates deterioration of brake drums, a manual brake, an insufficient level of a brake liquid, a fall in 30 seconds - air in system.
  • Turn key to half of turn - lamps of oil level and battery should be red and cease to burn after start.
  • Engine accelerates immediately after gas pedal is pressed.
  • Open oil filler neck, listen, ask for increased speed - there should be no rumbling, sound should be smooth.
  • Put your hand 10 centimeters from exhaust pipe - uniform knocks, there should be no moisture.
  • Increase the speed. Exhaust shouldn't be white or blue.
  • Find out if auto was serviced by official or private dealers. Ask for phones, check whether all examinations have been passed.
  • Condition of consumables: what oil is in engine and transmission now, brand of antifreeze.
  • Which spare parts were changed? At what mileage and in which service center? Are parts original or not? Clear answers of seller are extremely important.
  • Shake the car leaning on the wing. Response must be sufficiently rigid, there should be no extraneous sounds. Free stroke in response to rocking is small, return to starting position is fast.
  • If it comes to the lift, spin the wheels with your hands. Twist should be easy without noise.
  • There must be no rust, suspicious welding seams, traces of impacts on crankcase. Bottom should be flat.
  • Also on the lift you can sit down, turn on ignition and switch speed regimes with rotating wheels.
  • Turn the steering wheel near the car standing on the ground. There should be no backlash, jamming, even with a sharp rotation.
  • There must be no oily stains on engine.
