• Socialist camp states recession played dramatic role. Although organization was largest auto producer in Eastern Europe, this wasn't enough either.

• But more profound changes were needed after fall of Iron Curtain. In order to protect brand’s position state government had to find a reliable partner -a German concern Volkswagen Group. Union was concluded in 1991. Skoda Automobilova A. S.or just Skoda Auto appeared.
