Honda CBR 500R

Honda is clearly on its path to increase share in the highly competitive Indian two-wheeler market. The Japanese brand is currently gearing up to introduce some exciting products. Not only the highest in demand commuter segment, but the premium bike segment to is also in the target of the brand. One of the upcoming high-performance bikes from the Japanese brand is the Honda CBR500R that will be positioned below the Honda CBR650F in the company’s domestic portfolio.

The Honda CBR500R takes design inspiration from the bigger bikes. This 500 cc sportsbike will certainly help the brand to strengthen its presence in the premium category. In order to make this bike much more attractive, expect Honda to price it competitively with localized production.

The Honda CBR500R gets twin sleek LED headlamps, a tall visor and a fully digital instrument cluster. There is a muscular and sculpted looking fuel tank with 16.7-litre capacity that adds masculinity to the bike. The fairing adds not only masculinity to the bike, but aerodynamic efficiency as well. The low positioned seat comes with ergonomic positioning to ensure a comfortable and sporty riding stance to the rider, while the pillion seat comes with a split and stepped up appearance.

The bike features a narrow tail section and LED taillight, while the chunky looking exhaust pipe is located at right side of the bike. Honda CBR500R runs on black alloy wheels wrapped with meaty high-performance rubbers. It would be available in exciting and eye-catching colour options. Expect the Honda CBR500R to be priced between Rs. 4.25 lakh and Rs. 4.50 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).

On the powertrain front, Honda CBR500R gets energy from a 471 cc twin-cylinder, the liquid-cooled engine coupled with a 6-speed transmission. This engine is well capable of churning out 46.9 bhp of peak power at 8,500 rpm and 43 Nm of peak torque at 7,000 rpm. The engine ensures linear power delivery to offer great performance. 

For braking duty, the bike relies on disc brakes on both front and rear wheels, while suspension setup includes upside front forks and monoshock absorber at back. To enhance the safety of the bikers, Honda CBR500R comes equipped with dual-channel ABS as well.

It will challenge Kawasaki Ninja 650.

Honda CBR500R is expected to deliver mileage between 25 kmpl and 30 kmpl.

Honda CBR500R certainly comes ensuring a great performance. The rider enjoys a track-focused performance from the bike with smooth acceleration and a top speed of around 180 kmph. The 194 kg weighing bike also comes with great handling capability.
