Bajaj V Overview

The Pune-based auto maker, Bajaj Auto, has come up with a new radical product in the beginner’s commuter motorcycle market. The V15 is forged from metal taken from the Indian Navy’s first aircraft carrier – INS Vikrant. It carries scrambler-inspired retro-modern looks and comes with some of the most interesting features, such a removable rear seat cowl, front disc brake, stylish alloy wheels and clear-to-read instrumental panel. Being launched in a quite affordable price range, the new Bajaj V15 promises to be an interesting package overall.

Bajaj V Engine & Transmission

Bajaj V15 propels an all-new 150 cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder DTS-I engine that churns out a healthy power output of 12 bhp at 7,500 rpm and a torque output of 13 Nm at 5,500 rpm. The engine comes mated with a five-speed constant mesh transmission that is also utilized in the Discover series of motorcycles. It has almost equivalent power when compared to motorcycles like Yamaha SZ-RR Ver2.0 and Honda CB Unicorn.

Bajaj V Mileage

Its 150 cc engine is estimated to deliver a decent fuel economy of 45 kilometres to a litre, which means that with a full tank, it will take you to more than 700 kilometres in a single run. For reference, the bike can accommodate 13 litres of fuel when brimmed to the top.

Bajaj V Performance and Handling

The bike comes equipped with telescopic forks at the front and gas-filled twin-spring loaded hydraulic-type suspensions at the rear. It has a wheelbase of 1315 mm, which means that it will be stable when doing high speeds. Also, its 165 mm ground clearance will make it a hassle-free ride when travelling on slushy surfaces. Its high-raised wide handlebar contributes to make it a confident handler, and its well-padded seats and relaxed riding ergonomics indeed make it a comfortable motorcycle for everyday commuting.
