To make its mark in the executive sedan segment, Hyundai launched First Generation in India in early 2000’s and since then the Hyundai Sonata has been known to provide class leading comfort and features in the premium sedan segment. Poise to return back in Indian market after a brief hiatus the sonata is arriving with with all new styling inspired by the Hyundai’s luxury brand Genesis. The 2016 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid promises to come with roomy and luxurious cabin along with the latest in electronics and safety features. Poised to reinvent the low volume but high prestige sedan segment. The 2016 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid is expected to arrive with Hyundai's 2.0-litre "Nu" GDI four-cylinder engine, a six-speed automatic transmission and a more-powerful 38kW electric motor, the car delivers the same responsive, engaging driving characteristics as the standard Sonata, with a more than 10 percent improvement in fuel economy compared to the 2015 hybrid model. It will be loaded with safety features that include Vehicle Stability Management (VSM) with traction control, ABS with Electronic Brake Force Distribution and brake assist, blind spot detection system, rearview camera and much more. Giving comfort to your family, the 2016 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid Limited is equipped with key entry push button start, leather seating with power front seats, auto dimming rearview mirror, 5” color touchscreen display, Bluetooth hands-free phone system and more.

The new Hyundai Sonata Hybrid is expected to be powered by a 2.0L GDI DOHC 16-valve Inline 4-cylinder petrol engine connected to an electric motor and battery giving a combined system power of 193 HP @ 6000 and torque of about 205 Nm. This unit will be paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission with SHIFTRONI and the drive is delivered to the front wheels.

Sonata Hybrid is more suited towards comfort and offers an excellent ride quality. The car is lighter and more agile thanks to the overall weight of the car. The car remains planted always and maintains its composure even at high speeds.The engine is very responsive in the mid range and makes the car fun to drive. The suspension is very nice sprung and perfect balance between ride quality and handling.Tyres offer good grip and don’t lose traction as quickly.

Upon its launch, the Sonata Hybrid will be competing against the likes of the Toyota Camry, Honda Accord etc.

The aerodynamic design of this car is sure to have heads turning everywhere you pass. The styling is governed by Hyundai’s Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design philosophy. There are many appealing bits such as the huge and stylish front grille, swept back headlamps etc. The biggest attraction point for the Sonata Hybrid is its roofline, which merges seamlessly into the boot. The side profile is neat and the body line flows along flawlessly, alloys also look good and add to the presence. At the back too, the car looks quite attractive with its beautifully designed tail-lamps. The car measures 4855 mm in length, 1865 mm in width and has 1480 mm height with 2805 mm wheelbase.

The cabins of the Sonata Hybrid has been designed stylishly, and built from high-quality materials. The dashboard has great quality all over with the fit and finish also being great. The centre console comes with a neatly integrated touchscreen infotainment system. The leather wrapped seats are extremely comfortable for long journeys and the front seats are electrically adjustable with lumbar support. This boot too is large enough to gobble luggage for the weekend. Some of the notable features include Memory function for driver’s seat, Auto-dimming Rear View Mirror, Push Button Start, Keyless Entry, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, Infinity premium audio system, 8-inch touchscreen navigation etc.,to name a few.

The 2016 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid is expected to have a fuel efficiency figure between 15-19 Kmpl.

On the safety front,Sonata Hybridcomes loaded to the brim with features like 6 airbags, ABS with Electronic Brake Force Distribution, Blind Spot Detection, Rearview Camera,Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Traction Control, Brake Assist etc.,

The executive sedan is expected to be tagged in the range of Rs. 21 lakh to Rs 25 lakh. The new Hyundai Sonata Hybrid is expected to be launched in India in Mid 2017.
