    Hyundai Elite i20 Overview

    Hyundai Elite i20 is one of the best selling premium hatchbacks in India. The interior and the exterior of the i20 has been upgraded and comes with new features, equipment and design. It comes with many safety features and revised bumpers and lights. Hyundai offers the premium hatchback in one petrol and one diesel engine. Hyundai Elite i20 price is Rs. 5.52 lakhs(ex-showroom)

    Hyundai Elite i20 Interior

    Hyundai Elite i20 interior has been given a dual tone treatment with a black and beige theme due to which it looks premium when compared to other premium hatchbacks in the segment. You also get red or orange inserts throughout the cabin if you choose to go for a dual tone variant of the Elite i20. The elegance of the interior is enhanced by a leather wrapped steering wheel, leather wrapped gear knob and metal finish for the inside door handles and the parking brake tip. The front and rear passengers get armrests for added comfort. The driver gets a multi-function steering wheel, multi-information display that shows vital information, height adjustable seat, clutch footrest and keyless entry with push-button to start/stop. The rear passengers also get their own AC vents. The centre of the dashboard is taken by a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that comes with Android Auto, MirrorLink and Apple CarPlay. The infotainment system is connected to an Arkamys Sound system with 4 speakers and 4 tweeters. Hyundai also offers connected car features with voice recognition.

    According to ARAI, Hyundai Elite i20 diesel mileage is 22.54 kmpl while the petrol variant should return around 18.5 kmpl. However, the mileage of a car depends on the driving habits of the driver.

    The light steering of the Elite i20 makes it easier to manoeuvre the premium hatchback in the city traffic. The McPherson Strut with Coil Spring and Coil Springs in the rear absorbs the bumps and the potholes on the Indian roads. Overall, the Elite i20 offers a good ride quality with absorbent suspension and is perfect for the city duties.

    Hyundai Elite i20 exterior looks striking due to its slim headlights and taillights. At the front, you get halogen headlamps with LED daytime running lamps placed below the fog lamp. However, on the top variant you get an automatic headlamp with a projector setup, cornering lamps with LED daytime running lamps placed inside the headlamp unit. The gloss black front grille looks elegant due to the chrome surround. The side profile gets a dual tone paint job with a 15-inch alloy wheel finished in Gun metal finish or a 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheel depending for which variant you opt for. The B and C pillar have been blacked out or a floating roof-line effect. It also gets electrically adjustable and foldable outside rear view mirrors that are body coloured and the door handles are also body-coloured. The rear profile comprises of the dual tone bumper, sleek tail lamps while the reversing light has been placed on the lower half of the bumper with the right reflector.

    Hyundai Elite i20 Engine & Transmission

    Hyundai Elite i20 specs offer one petrol and one diesel engine. The 1.2-litre petrol engine produces max power output of 81.86 bhp @ 6,000rpm and a max torque output of 117Nm @ 4,000rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission or a CVT automatic transmission. The 1.4-litre diesel engine is more powerful producing 88.7bhp @ 4,000rpm of max power output and a peak torque output of 224Nm @ 1,500-2,750rpm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. There is no automatic transmission available with the diesel engine.

    Hyundai Elite i20 Braking and Safety

    Braking duties are handled by discs in the front and drum brakes at the rear. Driver and Passenger airbags are standard, but you can get up to 6 airbags if you opt for the top end variant which makes the i20 one of the safest cars in its segment. There is a headlamp escort function, ISOFIX child seat mounts, speed alert system and much more. The reverse parking camera with rear parking sensors help the driver in easily parking the premium hatch in a tight parking space.
