Mahindra XUV300 gets two turbo-charged powertrains, where the petrol engine is powered by a 1.2 litre turbo petrol engine, which generates power of 110 bhp @ 5000 rpm and 200 nm @ 2000-3500 rpm of peak torque, whereas the diesel variant is powered by a 1.5 litre turbo engine, which generates a peak power of 115 bhp @ 3750 rpm and a max torque of 300 nm @ 1500-2500 rpm. The transmission comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission or an AMT, which ensures better utilization of engine power and torque for better thrilling performance on the roads.

The all-new Mahindra XUV300 is a compact Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) by Mahindra. It has followed the footsteps of the subcompact and full-size SUV models of Mahindra, XUV500 and XUV800, respectively. The Mahindra XUV300 launch date is 14th February 2019.

 

The manufacturer has maintained most of its iconic looks with this new car, apart from a few tweaks to the exterior here and there. Similar to the XUV range as well as the TUV300, this car is a five-door, five-seater vehicle with incredible looks, robust engine and appreciable performance. During its design and manufacture phase, this car was codenamed S201 but later received a proper name as it was added to the XUV range. As Mahindra has worked with the automaker SsangYong to develop the engine for this car, they have also taken inspiration from Ssang Yong’s Tivoli while designing the Mahindra XUV300.

The Mahindra XUV300 price in India extends from INR 8 lakhs for it entry-level variant up to INR 12 lakhs for the top spec iteration on an ex-showroom basis. The price varies according to the fuel version selected by the customer as well as the safety and comfort features installed in the variant. The petrol version guises of this car cost comparatively lesser than the diesel version guises. Even though Mahindra hasn’t indicated towards the possibility of an automatic transmission variant, if they decide to launch one, it will probably be priced the highest. The Mahindra XUV300 on-road price varies from INR 9 lakhs to INR 14 lakhs from the base to top-level variants.

Mahindra XUV300 compact SUV holds a great resemblance to the higher XUV versions like XUV500 and XUV 800. The Mahindra XUV300 new model features two different types of engines. There is a 1.5 liter diesel engine that will be able to generate a peak torque of around 300 Nm and a maximum power output of approximately 121 bhp. The 1.2 liter G80 turbocharged petrol engine that Mahindra has developed in collaboration with SsangYong generates a maximum torque of 200 Nm. The Mahindra XUV300 seating capacity is of five passengers with two at the front and three at the rear. The legroom, headroom space and arm space is good and comfortable for all the passengers. The boot space available in this car is adequate and in proportion with the size of the car.

 

Mahindra has maintained high safety standards and equipped the new model with the latest and high-quality safety and security features, like Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), engine immobilizer, central locking mechanism, child safety lock, driver and co-passenger airbags, and door ajar warning.

 

The Mahindra XUV300 specifications in the comfort and convenience department have also followed the footsteps of its predecessors. Features like rear parking sensors, steering adjustment, steering-mounted infotainment controls, power outlets for charging devices, keyless entry, attractive upholstery, and armrests at the front and rear are available in this model.

 

Mahindra XUV300 photos clearly reveal that it boasts a squared-off bonnet with Mahindra’s flagship chrome grille along with LED daytime running fog lights. It has LED tail lights that provide a sleek European appearance to the car. The 5-spoke 17-inch wheels are accommodated within the flared wheel arches and provide a sporty, muscular and sturdy look.

 

The cabin has some improvements with regards to the infotainment system, as Mahindra has equipped the car with a touchscreen console on the dashboard for easy manoeuvring. The top-level guise has a sunroof, a total of seven airbags, disc brakes at the front and rear, and a dual-zone climate control system. The high-tech infotainment system can be paired with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. The cabin has a high gloss, black and light beige treatment making it attractive and unique. The Mahindra XUV300 competes with the likes of Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Ford EcoSport.
